In the Republic of Macedonia, temperatures vary from 40°C in the summer, while in winter it can drop up to minus 30°C. The average annual temperatures are above 10°C almost everywhere. Summers are hot and dry, and winter are cold and often with the snow falls in the mountains.
The best time to visit the Republic of Macedonia is from April to November, and the summer season is in July and August when local people also go on their vacation or summer holidays.
The abundance of Mediterranean flora is due to the closeness of the Aegean Sea, which is only 60 km away, and the Adriatic Sea, 80 km away from the western borders of the Republic. As a result of all these influences, there are three types of climate in the country: Mediterranean, moderate continental and mountainous. The convenient climate and the rare plant and animal life are ideal for the development of mountain tourism.
