The main international highway the E-75 crosses the country. Network of well maintained roads links its towns and its popular tourist areas.

The Republic of Macedonia is linked with neighbouring and some West European countries by both regular and seasonal bus routes. Direct bus services with: Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Sofia, Thessalonica, Munich, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Vienna, and Gothenburg. The local bus traffic is well organised and relatively cheap.

You can arrive in the Republic of Macedia with direct train from Serbia or from Greece. An international train operating twice a day connects Ljubljana(Slovenia) and Thessaloniki (Greece) through Macedonia. Stops include Tabanovce (the Macedonia-Serbia border crossing point), Kumanovo, Skopje, Veles, Gradsko, Negotino, Demir Kapija, and Gevgelija (Greek border crossing point), as well as a few small villages. An east-west railway to connect Bulgaria with Macedonia currently is under construction.

You can get in the Republic of Macedonia through the two international airports – one in Skopje (Alexander the Great Airport) and Ohrid (St. Paul the Apostle Airport). Domestic and international airlines have regular direct flight connections to: Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Zurich, Prague, Budapest … You can also use the neighbouring airports at Thessalonica, Belgrade, Sofia and Tirana.
